Dear Friends in Jesus,
For well over 100 years, Salem Lutheran Church and Preschool has been a beacon of light, love, and the peace of the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community of Springville and beyond. Peace... for that is what Salem is about! Peace. The word Salem means peace from the Hebrew word shalom. We seek now more than ever, in this 21st century, to be “a refuge of peace for our journey through life.” Building on our great past, striving to move forward in Jesus, and coming together as a family of caring and loving people, we are dedicated to becoming a Christ centered, Biblically based church centered with you in mind!
In today’s world where the cost of living is on the rise, where wars and rumors of wars run rampant, and the threat of terror seems to top the nightly news, we now more than ever need that peace, that Salem of Christ. So many people today are seeking peace in places where peace does not exist: in alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, and long hours at work away from the family. This old world with all of its negativity and all of its sins and all of its stress can become such a burden... and as we search, as we try so hard to bury our lives and our problems to find that “inner peace” it seems as if we become more smothered by the daily routines and pressures of the world around us. And that, my friends, is exactly where Satan wants us to be. For when we are there, we begin to lose sight of Jesus!
But when we surround ourselves with praise and worship, brothers and sisters in Christ, the Word of God, and His peace, our eyes are opened, His peace floods our hearts, our perspectives change, and so do our lives. Salem is a place where lives are restored, hearts are opened once again to our God, families are mended, and joy and happiness truly take over in our daily lives once again!
We invite you to find this Salem, this peace in your life. Join us for worship! Join us for Small groups! Join us for Bible Studies! Join us for fellowship and fun. We would love to have you. We would love to get to know you. From our family to yours, may the peace of God rule in your hearts!
